Back again, with the same art. I fixed it though! That awful text (that haunted my dreams) has been fixed and I decided to include the pencil lines for a bit of shading. Also I included a version without text for anybody interested!
More NEW content coming soon!
A little sketch I did for the Square Enix/Marvel announcement. Exciting stuff guys.
Basically the joke is that in FFXV, Square’s big game right now, you do a lot of pushing a car through the desert. Hopefully, they can bring that same exciting gameplay to the Marvel brand!
Don’t worry, if this joke was a bit too nerdy or esoteric for your tastes, there’s more nerdy and esoteric stuff coming your way! Srsly tho, I’m gonna be writing and cartooning about a wide variety of stuff, but this felt timely and it’s the kind of stuff I’m into.
On a side note….
THINGS I CAN’T DRAW (Officially)
-parts of cars
-people in cars
Can’t wait to see that list grow.
Thanks for being a part of what is, for me, a pretty big moment. Let me know what you think in the comments!
Two woods diverged in a yellow wood, and I took the path with a bunch of university classes, and little time for creative pursuits. This blog, subsequently, acquired that abandoned aesthetic we all know and love.
Things have changed. Without the looming responsibility of learning about junk, I can just make junk instead!
Right? Right. Right?
So it’s official. The blog is back, and hopefully it comes with a slew of new creative content. Slews I say. Stay tuned for (hopefully) BRAND-SPANKING NEW COMICS every week. Failing that, expect rough sketches of whatever I’m working on or perhaps my humorous musings about writin’, drawin’, self-promotin’ and high-fallutin’.
That is my promise to you, the loyal reader. New content and comics probably. Of uncertain quantities at an undisclosed point in the future. Hey, I’m doing my best here.
with the last week of classes just around the corner, I definitely haven’t been giving this wonderful blog the attention it deserves. I thought you deserve to know something about me. My favorite word starting with the letter “m” is “multitudinous”. I’ll have several updates once I’m through exams, and probably some links to my projects! Hang in there!
One small step for mankind, one giant, hurtling leap into the abyss for Corey. Trying to be a humour writer these days is a lot about marketing yourself, especially your online presence. You need to be funny and creative, and do it consistently where it will be seen by countless people. I feel I’ve prepared enough yo enact my new years resolution though: one funny tweet a day. It’s going to be grueling, and I know there will be days where I am simply incapable of 140 humorous characters, but I’m excited to challenge myself in this way, and hopefully get some of my stupid shit heard. Follow me @hotwheeel if you aren’t already. It should be an interesting ride.
You’re about to have the best 2015 anyone’s ever had! So y’know. That’s pretty cool.
You go do that. I’ll just be here. Writing away. Doin’ mah thing.
I kind of suck at updates to begin with, and the holiday season has somewhat exacerbated the situation. Things are busy! Being surrounded by friends and family has the benefit of distracting me from the slow, inevitable heat death of the universe. Plus I went to a hockey game, so that’s neat! It’s tough to be an Oilers fan living in Victoria, but seeing the Oil lay a beat down on the L.A. Kings live makes it all worthwhile…. so, whoever you are, and wherever you are, I hope you’re surrounded by the people and projects that fill you with passion. Happy Holidays 🙂
My next exam is in the last possible time slot for exams, 2:00 on the 22nd. It’s unfortunate that I’ll be traveling home so close to Christmas, but hey- at least I’ve got 6 days to do pretty much nothing. That’s pretty neat-o, I guess.
Hey, so here’s a thing I did. After hours of banging my head over simple errors, my website has finally been uploaded. The Small World Project was designed to bring the global community a little closer together- and to get me a half decent mark. Still, it’s kind of neat, and my first real foray into web design. Would highly recommend the squarespace platform to those looking to create their own sites.
In conclusion, check out the site, and send in a submission! That would be neat. No pressure or anything though, alright? I know you got a lot of stuff going on.
I’ve got a cool little project that I’m finally close enough to unveiling to the world! Details as they come, but in the meantime, I have a newfound respect for web designers and they way they wield CSS like an obscure and forgotten tongue, full of arcane power and untold secrets. Man, fuck those guys.
