webcomic

“Guardians of the officially licensed Disney Merchandise.” Guardians of the Galaxy TWO Webcomic.

Guardians of the Galaxy was such a wild ride, due in part to the relative obscurity of the characters. It’s funny to see how the franchise evolved over two movies, especially considering one of the characters has been reduced to cute sidekick status.

Still, even with how toyetic the film is, it’s a lot of fun and kicks it into full banter mode after the first scene.

It’s still kind of a knock-off of the first one, but so was Suicide Squad and this is at least a hundred-million-bajillion times better than that.

New Avengers Webcomic! “Picking Sides”

The dust has settled, my exams are finished and it’s finally time to make some more comics. It’s interesting trying to take the elements that have made previous webcomics successful and then build on that.

People like Avengers, they like characters they recognize and they like to see them acting silly. Mission accomplished?

Eleven more days until Guardians of the Galaxy TWOOOOO!

See you nerds at the theatre ūüėČ

Avengers: Infinity War Webcomic

New Avengers Webcomic! “Infinity x Infinity”

Boom! Two comics, two weeks. It’s like I’m getting good at this or something.¬†Or something.¬†

Thanos is the sort of dude who shows up 12 movies into a franchise, but he’s also the sort of dude who gets taken out by a teenage girl and her pet squirrels. ¬†I don’t blame him for wanting that infinite power, I DO blame him for not using it¬†creatively.

Keep an eye out for Avengers: Infinity War¬†in 2018, and keep an eye out for Thanos to use the infinity gauntlet to…shoot slightly larger lasers at people.¬†Coming to theatres near you.

See you next time!

Overwatch Webcomic

New Webcomic! “Overwatch Yo’ Self”

Hey! Long time, no see.

I know. I’m disappointed in me too.

I’m learning a lot of harsh lessons about the reality of cartooning in a very short amount of time, and I spent the last few weeks locked in mortal combat with a comic I just couldn’t get right. 3 different versions and countless hours of editing later, I had a not-funny joke that was landing straight on its face.

May it never see the light of day. For your benefit, as well as mine.

Anyways, Overwatch is pretty great. You may have heard of it. Little game by the guys who made World of Warcraft. Anyways, that edgelord up there is Reaper, and his verbose catchphrase is…. “die, die, die”. The thought of these guys playing DnD and getting riled up about grammar tickled me.

It’s a dumb joke, but those are kind of my specialty.

Anyways, pencils are already done for the next one! Expect it sometime this week, and hopefully with some regularity going forward.

So¬†long as I¬†don’t have any exams, right? That’d suck.

Lego Batman: The Movie: The Webcomic

New Webcomic! “Block-on-Block Violence”

This comic is soooo late guys. I got sick last week, then saved over the¬†.psd for the inks, and then I had an absolute NIGHTMARE getting an instagram-sized version. I ended up splitting it into four panels, and water-marking each. Frustrating stuff, but I guess that’s the reality¬†of a 4-panel comic.

On the¬†other¬†hand- 4 WHOLE PANELS.¬†That’s like… 6 times the content or something.

Lego Batman is¬†fascinating to me because it really demonstrates the versatility of the character. It’s been said before, but with so¬†many¬†versions of the character, everybody has their definitive Batman.

The recent “Nolan-ized”¬†Batman¬†has resulted in a lot of dark, edgy interpretations of the character. I hope¬†The LEGO¬†Batman Movie brings¬†some of his¬†goofy¬†aspects to the forefront.

Dinosaurs in the batcave? Bat-shark repellent?  The CONDIMENT KING?

I’m not difficult to please.
